Booking Information
Mickey Finn’s Pub is a
premier music venue presenting the finest local, regional and national
touring acts in an intimate setting. Audiences and performers enjoy the
atmosphere and personal attention we provide. Mickey Finn's Pub provides a
heated smoking patio for our smoking customers, as well as a clean
smoke-free environment inside the bar and event area. We generally welcome
patrons age 18+ for our shows.
If you are
interested in being booked at Mickey Finn’s Pub, please follow these easy
guidelines:
-
Send us a press kit with demo/CD.
Your package should contain pertinent information about your band (contact
name, phone number, website and email address), a written description of the
band and the music, where you have played, who you have played with, press
clippings, photograph and anything else you think we should know.
-
All press kits should be sent to:
Mickey Finn's Pub
Attn: Booking
602
Lagrange
Toledo, Ohio 43604
-
Press kits can also be dropped off at
the pub any time after 4pm Monday-Friday.
-
Please
give us at least 2-3 weeks to listen to your demo/CD. We often get many CDs
each week and we do listen to them all, but it does take time. Please
follow up via email. You can contact us at

Attn: Local/Regional Bands
If you are a band from
NW Ohio or SE Michigan, here are some very important things to keep in mind:
-
You are responsible for bringing
customers to our establishment the night of your show. That means you must
promote your band and bring paying customers to the pub to see you play. We
give you the door money, but we must be making money on the bar sales as
well if you are to return to play again at our establishment. If we give
you a date and it is not well-attended, we will be less inclined to have you
return.
-
A general rule of thumb is: A
headlining band should be able to bring in 40-50 people on a weeknight and
75-100 people on a weekend. Co-bills should be able to bring in at least 25
people on a weekend, and 50 people on a weekend night.
-
Columbus,
Detroit and Cleveland are very
different markets and bands that do well in these cities don’t necessarily
do well in Toledo. If you are from out of town, you will have to work a
little harder to break into the Toledo Music Scene. If you are booked,
there are a few ways you can do this. Make sure your fans from your
hometown know you’re playing and come out to see you. Ask to be put on the
bill with a Toledo-based band, or a band with a heavy Toledo-base.
-
If you see a night on our schedule
that you think would work with your band, let us know. If you have an idea
for full line-up for your show, let us know that too. If you are already
booked and your line-up changes, DEFINITELY let us know that IMMEDIATELY!
We DON’T LIKE SURPRISES!!!
-
We know that everyone would like to
headline a Friday or Saturday night, but it’s just not possible. We have
openings on other nights of the week too, so please feel free to ask for one
of those nights.
-
In most cases, bands play at Mickey
Finn’s Pub for 80% of the door.

Promoting Your Shows
Being booked for
Mickey Finn's Pub isn’t as simple as showing up, plugging in and playing.
After all, it’s your band up on stage, so why not have a full room in front
of you?
Here are some tips on
how to make it work:
-
If you are booked at Mickey Finn's
Pub, we expect you to heavily promote your show!!
-
Once again, make sure you have given
us a complete description of your band with your press kit, including your
website addresses, so that the information on our website can have an impact
on your potential fans.
-
Make flyers/posters and handbills
to bring to the pub at least 3
weeks before your show. Please make your flyers attractive and legible and
don’t forget to include pertinent information for your show - such as
DATE/TIME/COVER/OTHER SUPPORTING ACTS/ADDRESS/ ETC…We need 6-10 flyers
for the pub alone, plus handbills. We are always willing to help print and
distribute flyers. Please contact the booking agent regarding these
matters.
-
All bands should post your flyers
everywhere you can: record stores, coffee houses, etc…FLYER FLYER FLYER!!!!!
-
Tell everyone you know to come see
you play. Family, friends, etc. are all potential fans. Never
underestimate the power of word-of-mouth promotions. The more buzz, the
better!!
-
On the night of your show, make sure
you are at the pub on time for your sound check and that the show starts on
time. When you start late, customers may ask for their money back. Unless
you have an early show, sound check is at 8:30, and load-in time is 8pm.
-
If you have a guest list, give it to
us before the door begins (1 guest per each member of band).
Press List
Please send CDs and
information to these publications: They may be able to do a write-up on your
band for your show or list your appearance in their entertainment calendar.
